Chemex Classic 900 ml Coffee Maker - a one-piece, hourglass-shaped glass coffee maker with a design that hasn't changed since 1941 and is part of the permanent collection at MoMA in New York. However, you don't buy it for its beauty—you buy it for the taste.

Chemex filters are about three times thicker than standard ones. They retain coffee oils and the finest particles, resulting in an exceptionally clean and clear beverage with no bitterness. Flavor notes are revealed more vividly than with any other method, making Chemex particularly suitable for light-roasted, fruity coffees.

How to brew

• Coffee amount: 40-45 g of medium-coarse grind
• Water: 700 ml, 93-94 °C
• Time: 4-5 min. from the first pour
• Process: 40 s pre-infusion, then pour in a circular motion in several stages

Due to the thick filter, the water flows slower, so grind coarser than for V60—otherwise, the brewing will take too long and the coffee will become bitter.
