Description
Hario Mizudashi - a glass pitcher for cold brew coffee. You put ground coffee into the integrated filter, pour cold water over it, and leave it in the refrigerator. In the morning, you have a liter of ready cold brew coffee.
Cold brewing extracts different substances than hot brewing: the drink comes out sweet, mellow, and almost without acidity, with no bitterness at all. Prepared coffee lasts up to a week in the refrigerator, so one pitcher is enough for several days.
How to prepare
- Coffee quantity: 70-80 g coarse grind
- Water: 1000 ml cold drinking water
- Duration: 8 hours in the refrigerator (can be overnight)
- After brewing: remove the filter with grounds, otherwise the taste will become bitter
The grind must be coarse, like for a French press. If ground too finely, the coffee will seep through the filter and the drink will be cloudy.
Specification
- Capacity: 1000 ml
- Material: heat-resistant glass, plastic lid
- Filter: integrated reusable (no paper filters needed)
- Color: brown
- Manufacturer: Hario, Japan
Also suitable for cold brewing tea. The narrow body fits into standard refrigerator door shelves.
